SIMC1
Description
The SIMC1 (SUMO interacting motifs containing 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.
SIMC1 helps recruit the SMC5-SMC6 complex to fight off viruses. It forms a partnership with SLF2, and together they guide SMC5-SMC6 to PML nuclear bodies and viral replication sites.
SIMC1 is also known as C5orf25, OOMA1, PLEIAD.
