SHB

Description

The SHB (SH2 domain containing adaptor protein B) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 9.

SHB may refer to: SH2 domain-containing adapter protein B

SHB is an adapter protein that regulates a variety of signal transduction cascades by linking activated receptors to downstream signaling components. It plays a role in angiogenesis by regulating FGFR1, VEGFR2, and PDGFR signaling. It is also involved in T-cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling, interleukin-2 signaling, apoptosis, and neuronal cell differentiation by mediating basic-FGF and NGF-induced signaling cascades. Additionally, SHB regulates IRS1 and IRS2 signaling in insulin-producing cells.

SHB is also known as bA3J10.2.
