SERPINB13

Description

The SERPINB13 (serpin family B member 13) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.

Serpin B13 is a protein found in humans that is produced by the SERPINB13 gene. It belongs to the serpin family of proteins, which are known for their ability to inhibit protease enzymes. Serpin B13 is also known as HaCaT UV-repressible serpin, Headpin, Peptidase inhibitor 13, or Proteinase inhibitor 13. Its exact function is still being studied, but it may play a role in the growth or development of keratinocytes, the cells that make up the outer layer of skin.
