SERPINB12
Description
The SERPINB12 (serpin family B member 12) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 18.
SERPINB12 inhibits the activity of trypsin and plasmin, two enzymes involved in the breakdown of proteins. However, it does not inhibit the activity of thrombin, coagulation factor Xa, or urokinase-type plasminogen activator, which are involved in blood clotting and fibrinolysis. SERPINB12 may also play a role in cell differentiation, the process by which cells specialize into different types.
SERPINB12 is also known as YUKOPIN.
