SERPINA12, also known as OL-64, is an adipokine that regulates insulin action by specifically blocking the activity of the protease KLK7 in white adipose tissues. This function has been observed in various studies (PubMed:16030142, PubMed:23370777, PubMed:26199422, PubMed:28668641).
