SERINC3
Description
The SERINC3 (serine incorporator 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.
SERINC3 is a protein encoded by the SERINC3 gene in humans. It has been shown to act as a retrovirus restriction factor.
SERINC3 acts as a restriction factor for lentiviruses like HIV-1 by inhibiting an early stage of viral infection. It prevents the viral particle from entering the cell's cytoplasm.
SERINC3 is also known as AIGP1, DIFF33, SBBI99, TDE, TDE1, TMS-1.
