SEC14L1

Description

The SEC14L1 (SEC14 like lipid binding 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

SEC14-like protein 1 is a protein encoded by the SEC14L1 gene in humans. It belongs to the SEC14 cytosolic factor family and shares similarities with yeast SEC14 and Japanese flying squid RALBP, suggesting a possible role in intracellular transport.

SEC14L1 plays a role in innate immunity by suppressing the antiviral RIG-I signaling pathway. It acts as a negative regulator of RIGI, a sensor of viral nucleic acids in the cytoplasm, by preventing RIGI's interaction with MAVS/IPS1, a crucial step in signal propagation. SEC14L1 may also regulate the SLC18A3 and SLC5A7 cholinergic transporters.

SEC14L1 is also known as PRELID4A, SEC14L.
