SCARNA10

Description

The SCARNA10 (small Cajal body-specific RNA 10) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 12.

SCARNA10 is a small nucleolar RNA (snoRNA) that is involved in the processing of ribosomal RNA (rRNA). It is thought to guide the methylation of uridine residues at position 2507 in 18S rRNA, a modification that is essential for the proper assembly and function of the ribosome. SCARNA10 is also known to interact with several other proteins, including fibrillarin and nucleolin, which are both involved in ribosome biogenesis.
