RPL36AL

Description

The RPL36AL (ribosomal protein L36a like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

The RPL36AL gene encodes a protein called Ribosomal protein L36a like. This protein is part of the 60S subunit of the ribosome, a cellular organelle responsible for protein synthesis. The ribosome is made up of two subunits, a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit. The RPL36AL protein shares similarities with the yeast ribosomal protein L44 and belongs to the L44E (L36AE) family of ribosomal proteins. RPL36AL is very similar to the RPL36A protein, but they are distinct genes. There are also multiple processed pseudogenes of RPL36AL scattered throughout the genome.

RPL36AL is also known as RPL36A, RPL36AP42, RPL36A_18_1363.
