RBM6

Description

The RBM6 (RNA binding motif protein 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.

RBM6, the gene encoding RNA-binding protein 6, is present in all mammals with complete genome data. This protein plays a role in DNA repair, interacting with the RAD51 protein and promoting homologous recombinational repair at DNA double-strand breaks.

RBM6 binds specifically to poly(G) RNA homopolymers in laboratory settings.

RBM6 is also known as 3G2, DEF-3, DEF3, HLC-11, NY-LU-12, g16.
