RBFOX3

Description

The RBFOX3 (RNA binding fox-1 homolog 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

RBFOX3 is a protein in humans, encoded by the RBFOX3 gene. It is an RNA binding protein that is homologous to the Fox-1 protein found in the nematode C. elegans.

RBFOX3 acts as a pre-mRNA alternative splicing regulator, specifically controlling the splicing of RBFOX2. This regulation results in an increase in mRNA transcripts that are destined for nonsense-mediated decay (NMD).

RBFOX3 is also known as FOX-3, FOX3, HRNBP3, NEUN.
