RANGRF

Description

The RANGRF (RAN guanine nucleotide release factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 17.

RANGRF, also known as Ran-binding protein MOG1, plays a role in regulating intracellular RAN trafficking, promoting guanine nucleotide release from RAN, and inhibiting the binding of new GTP by blocking the interaction with RCC1. It regulates the levels of GTP-bound RAN in the nucleus, influencing RAN-dependent mitotic spindle dynamics. Additionally, RANGRF enhances SCN5A expression at the cell membrane in cardiomyocytes.

RANGRF is also known as HSPC165, HSPC236, MOG1, RANGNRF.
