RANBP3L

Description

The RANBP3L (RAN binding protein 3 like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

RAN binding protein 3-like is a protein in humans that is encoded by the RANBP3L gene.

RANBP3L acts as a nuclear export factor for BMP-specific SMAD1/5/8, playing a crucial role in terminating BMP signaling and regulating mesenchymal stem cell differentiation. It achieves this by preventing osteoblast differentiation and promoting myogenic differentiation. Specifically, RANBP3L directly recognizes dephosphorylated SMAD1/5/8 and mediates their export from the nucleus, a process that is dependent on the Ran protein.

RANBP3L is also known as -.
