RAB6A

Description

The RAB6A (RAB6A, member RAS oncogene family) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

RAB6A is a human gene located on chromosome 11 that encodes Ras-related protein Rab-6A. This protein primarily regulates the movement of proteins from the Golgi complex to the endoplasmic reticulum and participates in the process of exocytosis, working in conjunction with microtubules.

RAB6A regulates COPI-independent retrograde transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), exhibiting low GTPase activity. It recruits VPS13B to the Golgi membrane and likely plays a role in neuron projection development.

RAB6A is also known as RAB6.
