PYCARD-AS1

Description

The PYCARD-AS1 (PYCARD antisense RNA 1) is a ncRNA gene located on chromosome 16.

PYCARD-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that is located on chromosome 16. It is transcribed from the opposite strand of the PYCARD gene, which encodes the adaptor protein ASC. PYCARD-AS1 is thought to play a role in regulating the expression of PYCARD, and it has been implicated in inflammatory responses.

PYCARD-AS1 is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) that has been shown to play a role in regulating the expression of the PYCARD gene. PYCARD encodes the adaptor protein ASC, which is involved in the activation of the inflammasome, a multi-protein complex that plays a key role in innate immunity. Studies have suggested that PYCARD-AS1 may act as a sponge for microRNAs that target PYCARD mRNA, thereby enhancing the expression of ASC. This may contribute to the regulation of inflammatory responses.

PYCARD-AS1 is also known as C16orf98, PYCARDOS.
