PXK
Description
The PXK (PX domain containing serine/threonine kinase like) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 3.
PXK, also known as PX domain containing serine/threonine kinase, is a protein encoded by the PXK gene in humans. PXK interacts with the Na⁺/K⁺-ATPase beta-1 (ATP1B1) and beta-3 (ATP1B3) subunits, modulating both their enzymatic and ion pump activities.
PXK binds to and regulates the activity of the Na,K-ATPase subunits ATP1B1 and ATP1B3 in the brain. This interaction may play a role in controlling electrical excitability and synaptic transmission. PXK might not possess kinase activity.
PXK is also known as MONAKA, SLOB.
