PWP1

Description

The PWP1 (PWP1 homolog, endonuclein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

Periodic tryptophan protein 1 homolog is a protein that in humans is encoded by the PWP1 gene.

PWP1 is a chromatin-associated factor that regulates transcription, specifically by regulating Pol I-mediated rRNA biogenesis and possibly Pol III-mediated transcription. It also plays a role in regulating the epigenetic status of rDNA.

PWP1 is also known as IEF-SSP-9502, NCLB.
