F8
Description
The F8 gene provides instructions for making a protein called factor VIII, an essential component of the clotting cascade. Factor VIII helps platelets and other clotting factors stick together to form a clot, preventing excessive bleeding. Mutations in the F8 gene can disrupt factor VIII production, leading to a deficiency and a risk of excessive bleeding.
