TEX11

Description

The TEX11 gene provides instructions for making a protein essential for ribosome assembly, the cellular machinery responsible for protein synthesis. This protein, known as testis-expressed 11, plays a key role in the final stages of ribosome formation, ensuring their proper structure and function. Located on chromosome 17, TEX11 is highly expressed in the testes, indicating its potential role in male fertility. Mutations in this gene can lead to disruptions in ribosome biogenesis, ultimately impacting the production of proteins vital for various cellular processes.
