USP45

Description

The USP45 (ubiquitin specific peptidase 45) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

USP45 catalyzes the removal of ubiquitin from SPDL1, a protein involved in cell migration. It also plays a role in repairing UV-induced DNA damage by removing ubiquitin from ERCC1, leading to the recruitment of ERCC1 to damaged DNA sites. Additionally, USP45 might be involved in maintaining photoreceptor function and normal retinal development.

USP45 is also known as LCA19.
