SPIDR

Description

The SPIDR (scaffold protein involved in DNA repair) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

SPIDR plays a vital role in repairing double-strand breaks (DSBs) in DNA through homologous recombination (HR). It acts as a scaffolding protein, facilitating the recruitment of essential DNA-processing enzymes like the helicase BLM and the recombinase RAD51 to the site of damage. This process is crucial for maintaining the integrity of the genome.

SPIDR is also known as KIAA0146, ODG9.
