RNPC3

Description

The RNPC3 (RNA binding region (RNP1, RRM) containing 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

RNPC3 plays a role in the splicing of pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA) that relies on the U12 spliceosome. This minor spliceosome is responsible for removing U12-type introns, which make up a small fraction (less than 1%) of non-coding sequences within genes. RNPC3 binds to the 3'-stem-loop of the m(7)G-capped U12 snRNA, a key component of the U12 spliceosome.

RNPC3 is also known as CPHD7, IGHD5, RBM40, RNP, SNRNP65.
