RIN2

Description

The RIN2 (Ras and Rab interactor 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 20.

RIN2 acts as a regulator within the endocytic pathway, potentially serving as both an upstream activator and a downstream effector for RAB5B. It may function as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) for RAB5B, enabling the activation of RAB5 proteins by facilitating the exchange of bound GDP for free GTP.

RIN2 is also known as MACS, RASSF4.
