Description

The PIGG (phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class G (EMM blood group)) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

PIGG is an ethanolamine phosphate transferase involved in the synthesis of glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchors. It specifically transfers ethanolamine phosphate to the second mannose residue within the GPI structure.

PIGG is also known as EMM, GPI7, LAS21, MRT53, NEDHSCA, PRO4405, RLGS1930.
