PHYKPL

Description

The PHYKPL (5-phosphohydroxy-L-lysine phospho-lyase) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

PHYKPL catalyzes the breakdown of 5-phosphohydroxy-L-lysine, using pyridoxal-phosphate as a cofactor. This reaction produces ammonia, inorganic phosphate, and 2-aminoadipate semialdehyde.

PHYKPL is also known as AGXT2L2, PHLU.
