PADI6

Description

The PADI6 (peptidyl arginine deiminase 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 1.

PADI6 catalyzes the conversion of arginine residues to citrulline in proteins, which is known as deimination. This protein may play a role in reorganizing the cytoskeleton during the initial stages of egg development and early embryonic growth. This information is supported by experimental evidence (PubMed:27545678).

PADI6 is also known as OZEMA16, PREMBL2, hPADVI.
