NECTIN1

Description

The NECTIN1 (nectin cell adhesion molecule 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

NECTIN1 promotes cell-cell adhesion by forming connections with other NECTIN1 molecules (homophilic interactions) or with other NECTIN family members like NECTIN3 and NECTIN4 (heterophilic interactions). It also plays a role in the growth of nerve cells (neurites).

NECTIN1 is also known as CD111, CLPED1, ED4, HIgR, HV1S, HVEC, OFC7, PRR, PRR1, PVRL1, PVRR, PVRR1, SK-12, nectin-1.
