NBAS
Description
The NBAS (NBAS subunit of NRZ tethering complex) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.
NBAS may refer to:
NBAS plays a critical role in the retrograde transport of molecules from the Golgi apparatus to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER). This function is believed to be mediated by its association with the NRZ complex, which is involved in SNARE assembly at the ER. Additionally, NBAS is essential for normal embryonic development and may contribute to the nonsense-mediated decay pathway of mRNAs containing premature stop codons.
NBAS is also known as ILFS2, NAG, SOPH.
