KIAA0825

Description

The KIAA0825 (KIAA0825) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 5.

KIAA0825 is a protein encoded by a gene of the same name located on chromosome 5. It is potentially linked to an increased risk of Type II Diabetes, possibly by elevating blood glucose levels. The gene is relatively fast-mutating but contains a highly conserved region called DUF4495. It is predicted to move between the cell's nucleus and cytoplasm. It is approximately 478 kilobases long, comprises 22 exons, and produces 10 variants, including 9 alternatively spliced forms and one unspliced version. It has been suggested as a possible oncogene.

KIAA0825 is also known as C5orf36, PAPA10.
