DUOXA2

Description

The DUOXA2 (dual oxidase maturation factor 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 15.

DUOXA2 is essential for the proper folding and trafficking of DUOX2 from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell surface. This process is crucial for the production of active DUOX2, an enzyme involved in generating reactive oxygen species. DUOXA2 may also contribute to thyroid hormone synthesis.

DUOXA2 is also known as SIMNIPHOM, TDH5.
