CLMP

Description

The CLMP gene, located on chromosome 11, encodes for the protein CLMP. This protein plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of cilia, hair-like structures found on the surface of many cells. These cilia are essential for a variety of cellular processes, including sensing the environment, movement of fluids, and cell signaling. Mutations in the CLMP gene can disrupt cilia function, leading to a range of health problems.
