CCDC65

Description

The CCDC65 (coiled-coil domain containing 65) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

CCDC65 is a component of the nexin-dynein regulatory complex (N-DRC), which plays a vital role in regulating ciliary/flagellar motility. This complex maintains the alignment and integrity of the distal axoneme and controls microtubule sliding within motile axonemes. CCDC65 is essential for the assembly of the N-DRC, stabilizing the assembly of multiple inner dynein arms and radial spokes. It collaborates with DRC1 to form a central scaffold, facilitating the assembly of the N-DRC and its attachment to the outer doublet microtubules.

CCDC65 is also known as CFAP250, DRC2, FAP250, NYD-SP28.
