CBLIF

Description

The CBLIF (cobalamin binding intrinsic factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.

CBLIF facilitates the absorption of vitamin cobalamin (vitamin B12) in the small intestine. It binds to cobalamin and, after interaction with the CUBN protein, the complex is taken up by the cells through receptor-mediated endocytosis.

CBLIF is also known as GIF, IF, IFMH, INF, TCN3.
