CATIP

Description

The CATIP (ciliogenesis associated TTC17 interacting protein) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

CATIP participates in the formation of primary cilia, structures that extend from the surface of cells, by controlling the arrangement of actin filaments, the building blocks of the cell's internal skeleton. This is based on research published in 2014 (PubMed:24475127) and 2020 (PubMed:32503832).

CATIP is also known as C2orf62.
