ANO6
Description
The ANO6 (anoctamin 6) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.
ANO6 acts as a regulator of phospholipid scrambling in platelets and osteoblasts, a process essential for blood clotting and bone mineralization respectively. This activity is calcium-dependent and scrambles phosphatidylserine, phosphatidylcholine, and galactosylceramide. ANO6 can also generate outwardly rectifying chloride channel currents in airway epithelial cells and Jurkat T lymphocytes.
ANO6 is also known as BDPLT7, SCTS, TMEM16F.
