PRDM7
Description
The PRDM7 (PR/SET domain 7) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.
PRDM7 is a histone methyltransferase that specifically adds a methyl group to the fourth lysine residue (Lys-4) of dimethylated histone H3 (H3K4me2), converting it to trimethylated Lys-4 histone H3 (H3K4me3). This modification is thought to be important for establishing an active chromatin state, which allows genes to be transcribed.
PRDM7 is also known as PFM4, ZNF910.
