PPRC1
Description
The PPRC1 (PPARG related coactivator 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 10.
PPRC1 (Peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-related protein 1) is a protein encoded by the PPRC1 gene in humans. It shares similarities with PPARGC1 (PPAR-gamma coactivator 1/PGC-1), a protein that activates mitochondrial biogenesis by interacting with nuclear respiratory factor 1 (NRF1). PPRC1 also interacts with NRF1, suggesting it may be a functional counterpart of PPARGC1, activating mitochondrial biogenesis via NRF1 in response to growth signals. PPRC1 has also been shown to interact with USF2.
