PPP3R1

Description

The PPP3R1 (protein phosphatase 3 regulatory subunit B, alpha) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 2.

PPP3R1 encodes calcineurin subunit B type 1, also known as protein phosphatase 2B regulatory subunit 1. This protein is involved in regulating the activity of calcineurin, a calcium-dependent phosphatase. A single nucleotide polymorphism in PPP3R1, rs1868402, is linked to rapid progression of Alzheimer's disease.

PPP3R1, also known as calcineurin subunit B type 1, is a regulatory subunit of calcineurin, a calcium-dependent, calmodulin-stimulated protein phosphatase. It confers calcium sensitivity to calcineurin.

PPP3R1 is also known as CALNB1, CNB, CNB1.
