PPP2R5C

Description

The PPP2R5C (protein phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B'gamma) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

PPP2R5C encodes a protein that is part of the Protein phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2A is a major enzyme involved in regulating cell growth and division. It consists of a core structure with a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit, which can associate with different regulatory subunits. The B regulatory subunit might influence the enzyme's activity and what molecules it interacts with. PPP2R5C encodes a specific gamma isoform of the B56 subfamily. Different forms of the protein can be produced due to alternative splicing.

PPP2R5C is also known as B56G, B56gamma, PR61G.
