PPP2R2C

Description

The PPP2R2C (protein phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit Bgamma) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

PPP2R2C, a human gene, encodes a protein known as Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A 55 kDa regulatory subunit B gamma isoform. This protein belongs to the phosphatase 2 regulatory subunit B family. Protein phosphatase 2 is one of the major Ser/Thr phosphatases and is involved in the regulation of cell growth and division. It is made up of a core enzyme composed of a catalytic subunit and a constant regulatory subunit. These subunits can then associate with a variety of regulatory subunits, like the one encoded by PPP2R2C. This gene encodes a specific gamma isoform of the B55 subfamily of regulatory subunits. Different isoforms of this protein can be produced due to alternative splicing.

PPP2R2C is also known as B55-GAMMA, B55gamma, IMYPNO, IMYPNO1, PR52, PR55G.
