PPP1R11

Description

The PPP1R11 (protein phosphatase 1 regulatory inhibitor subunit 11) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.

PPP1R11 is a gene encoding a specific inhibitor of protein phosphatase-1 (PP1) with varying sensitivity to PP1's metal-dependent and independent forms. This gene is found in the major histocompatibility complex class I region on chromosome 6.

PPP1R11 acts as an atypical E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, specifically targeting TLR2 for ubiquitination at Lys-754, leading to its degradation by the proteasome. This function is critical in regulating inflammatory cytokine release and clearing gram-positive bacteria. PPP1R11 also functions as an inhibitor of protein phosphatase 1.

PPP1R11 is also known as CFAP255, HCG-V, HCGV, IPP3, TCTE5, TCTEX5.
