PPFIA2

Description

The PPFIA2 (PTPRF interacting protein alpha 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

PPFIA2 influences the cellular distribution of PTPRF and promotes its aggregation. It might play a role in the breakdown of focal adhesions. PPFIA2 could direct receptor-like tyrosine phosphatases type 2A to specific locations on the cell membrane, potentially controlling their interactions with the external environment and their associations with substrates. In nerve cells, PPFIA2 serves as a structural protein within dendritic spines, acting as a stationary postsynaptic site that attracts KIF1A-driven dense core vesicles to dendritic spines.

PPFIA2 is also known as -.
