POP5

Description

The POP5 (POP5 homolog, ribonuclease P/MRP subunit) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

POP5 is a gene that encodes a protein subunit of the ribonuclease P/MRP complex. This complex plays a role in the processing of tRNA and rRNA molecules.

POP5 is a component of ribonuclease P, a protein complex that generates mature tRNA molecules by cleaving their 5'-ends. It is also a component of the MRP ribonuclease complex, which cleaves pre-rRNA sequences.

POP5 is also known as HSPC004, RPP2, RPP20, hPop5.
