PLLP

Description

The PLLP (plasmolipin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 16.

PLLP, also known as Plasmolipin, is thought to play a role in the process of myelination. It is also likely involved in ion transport, as its addition to lipid bilayers leads to the formation of ion channels. These channels are voltage-dependent and selective for potassium ions (K+).

PLLP is also known as PMLP, TM4SF11.
