PGF

Description

The PGF (placental growth factor) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 14.

PGF, or Placenta Growth Factor, is a protein involved in angiogenesis and endothelial cell growth.

Placenta growth factor (PlGF) is a growth factor that plays a crucial role in angiogenesis (blood vessel formation) and endothelial cell growth. It stimulates the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells. PlGF binds to the receptor FLT1/VEGFR-1. PlGF-2, an isoform of PlGF, interacts with NRP1/neuropilin-1 and NRP2/neuropilin-2 in a heparin-dependent manner. Additionally, PlGF promotes tumor cell growth.

PGF is also known as D12S1900, PGFL, PIGF, PLGF, PlGF-2, SHGC-10760.
