PDLIM2

Description

The PDLIM2 (PDZ and LIM domain 2) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 8.

PDLIM2, or PDZ and LIM domain protein 2, is a protein encoded by the PDLIM2 gene in humans.

PDLIM2 acts as an adapter protein, linking to the actin cytoskeleton and promoting cell attachment. It plays a crucial role in epithelial cell migration. Increasing PDLIM2 levels enhances cell adhesion to collagen and fibronectin, and inhibits anchorage-independent growth, potentially contributing to tumor cell migration.

PDLIM2 is also known as MYSTIQUE, SLIM.
