PCDH10

Description

The PCDH10 (protocadherin 10) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 4.

PCDH10 encodes a protein called protocadherin-10. It belongs to the protocadherin gene family, a subfamily of the cadherin superfamily. This protein is a neuronal receptor thought to play a role in the establishment and function of specific cell-cell connections in the brain. It contains 6 extracellular cadherin domains, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail. Different versions of the protein are produced due to alternative splicing, resulting in isoforms with unique cytoplasmic domains.

PCDH10 is also known as OL-PCDH, PCDH19.
