PANX3
Description
The PANX3 (pannexin 3) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 11.
PANX3 plays a crucial role in regulating osteoblast differentiation by acting as a calcium (Ca2+) channel within the endoplasmic reticulum. This channel activity influences calmodulin (CaM) pathways. Additionally, PANX3 enables the release of ATP into the extracellular space, leading to the activation of purinergic receptors.
PANX3 is also known as PX3.
