PAK1IP1
Description
The PAK1IP1 (PAK1 interacting protein 1) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 6.
PAK1IP1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PAK1IP1 gene. PAK1IP1 has been shown to interact with PAK1.
PAK1IP1 negatively regulates the activity of PAK1 kinase. PAK1 is a member of the PAK kinase family, which plays a positive role in regulating signaling pathways involving MAPK8 and RELA. PAK1 exists as an inactive homodimer and is activated by binding of small GTPases like CDC42 to its N-terminal regulatory domain. PAK1IP1 binds to the N-terminus of PAK1, inhibiting its specific activation by CDC42. PAK1IP1 might also participate in ribosomal large subunit assembly.
PAK1IP1 is also known as MAK11, PIP1, WDR84, bA421M1.5, hPIP1.
