OS9

Description

The OS9 (OS9 endoplasmic reticulum lectin) is a protein-coding gene located on chromosome 12.

OS9, OS-9, or OS 9 may refer to:

OS9 is a lectin involved in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) quality control and ER-associated degradation (ERAD). It binds to misfolded proteins, both glycosylated and non-glycosylated, preventing their exit from the ER. OS9 may then transfer these proteins to the ubiquitination machinery, leading to their degradation. One known target of OS9 is the TRPV4 protein.

OS9 is also known as ERLEC2, OS-9.
